EVENT RELEASE

Studio Channel Islands Blackboard Gallery is pleased to present “Light & Space Through Time” The Art of Karrie Ross. Selected artwork created from 2017 thru 2019. The exhibit of 2D and 3D work covers several series including: light & space flow/water/sound vibrations; metaphorical pen&ink the questions/actions of being human is….; and new abstracts with the image of an egg shape representing a head, safety, sanctuary, security — from her exploration of the resulting fears, and affects (TBI and concussion) of the accident in mid-2018 and the questions that needed answers.

There will also be a display of artwork created by TBI survivors in the Members Gallery.

Karrie Ross is a Los Angeles based visual artist who implements a variety of mediums in her art, including pen&ink, watercolor, acrylic, wire, and collage. Her work,a collaboration with nature, is fueled by questions and the what it takes to live in this world, a ‘Being human is….’ explored. With over 45 years of experience, Ross’s work has been shown in over 170 exhibitions in the past decade.

Studio Channel Islands is located within a re-imagined converted 1950s Elementary School and includes two art galleries, 26 converted classroom to artists studios and an outdoor exhibition and event spaces on the grounds and back parking lot.
